Wilson Martinez, 15, is stabbed and killed

He is killed on Constitution Beach. The first of five teenage Latino young men murdered in East Boston in the next year, Martinez had emigrated to Boston from El Salvador a few years earlier. Other victims include Irvin de Paz Castro, 15, found fatally stabled on Trenton Street on September 20, 2015; Christopher Perez de La Crus, 16, found shot, and slashed on January 10, 2016; Carlos Villatoro-Nunez, 16, whose body is found in the Belle Isle Marsh Reservation on December 9, 2016; and Luis Fernando Orellano Ruano, 18, who is found stabbed to death near the East Boston Memorial Park on December 24, 2016. All are suspected of being victims of gang violence. Two men, 19 and 21, with ties to the MS-13 gang are subsequently indicted for the murders.
